Search suggestions are recommended queries or products shown to a shopper, either before they type anything or after a search that returned weak results.

Unlike autocomplete, which predicts what the current partial query is likely to become, search suggestions can also appear as a recovery mechanism after a completed search — pointing a shopper toward a related query more likely to return good results.
